THE NORTH EAST'S FIRST CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL
Fifteen years of proof that happy children go far.
International School Guwahati is the region's first and oldest Cambridge school — founded in 2010 as the North East's gateway to a globally recognised education. From Kindergarten to A Level, we offer the full Cambridge pathway, ending in IGCSE and A Level qualifications respected by universities in India and around the world.
But a track record is only worth what it does for your child. Here, in-depth learning and genuine specialisation are built on small classes and real support — so your child isn't pushed through the system, but grows through it. Education with pleasure, not pressure, for fifteen years and counting.

Choose your child
Wherever your child is starting from, there's a place already waiting.
Ages 3–6
The year your child learns that school is a happy place.
Days are built around play, stories, songs and sand — because that is how three- and four-year-olds actually learn. Teachers notice the quiet child as readily as the loud one. Nothing is rushed, nothing is tested, and every child is walked in by name each morning.

Where it leads
Leads into Cambridge Primary, already confident with a pencil, a question and a friend.
A day at ISG
This is what your child's Tuesday actually looks like.
Labs, a pool, a library and a theatre only matter for what they give a child by four o'clock. Here is the day, hour by hour.
8:00 am

Arrival & check-in
Every child is greeted by name — the day starts with being known.
8:40 am

Small-group lessons
With no more than 20 in a room, no question goes unasked.
10:30 am

Science lab
Ideas get tested with their own hands, not just read from a page.
12:15 pm

Break & swimming
Bodies move, friendships form, and afternoons stay focused.
2:00 pm

Theatre or art
A stage teaches a shy child that their voice carries.
3:30 pm

Home
Children leave tired in the good way — full, not drained.

What we grow
Five words we'd like your child to be described by at eighteen.
A child who can look at their own work and say honestly what to do better.
How we nurture it
Teachers close each unit with reflection journals and one-to-one conversations rather than only a mark out of ten.
Why families choose the established school
Fifteen years of watching children grow into themselves.
New schools promise. We can show you. ISG was the first Cambridge school in the North East and remains its oldest — which means our teachers have taught the full pathway many times over, our results have a track record, and our alumni are already out in the world, writing to tell us how it went.
- The region's first and oldest Cambridge school — founded 2010 by NR Education Foundation.
- Senior faculty: 45+ teachers, 14% with a PhD and 58% with a Master's degree.

What families say when we're not in the room.
She comes home talking about what she learned, not what she was tested on. That was the whole reason we moved her here.
The teachers knew my son was struggling with mathematics before we did — and had a plan ready when they called.
A Level here felt like university already. Fifteen of us in a room, arguing about texts. I arrived abroad ready.
Fifteen years in the same city, the same standards. You can see it in the children who leave.

A message from our Chairman
"The aim of education should be to teach the child to think, not what to think."
When we founded ISG in 2010, Guwahati had no Cambridge school. We began with a simple conviction: that children learn most deeply when they are enjoying themselves, and that a child under pressure learns only how to survive pressure. Fifteen years on, that conviction has been tested by every cohort — and by the young people who come back to visit us from universities around the world.

The best way to know a school is to stand in it on an ordinary working morning. Come and see the classrooms full, the pool in use and the children mid-conversation — then decide.
